Trash Talk: A Case for Picking Up Litter on the Trail

We’ve all seen it: the neglected shrouds of snacks enjoyed long ago. The metallic, unnatural glimmer in a shallow stream, caught behind sticks, or caught in brush trailside.

2021 Reduction Action Plan

In conjunction with our Climate Neutral certification, we have created a 2021 Reduction Action Plan that will help us keep on track to reduce our negative impact throughout the year. We believe that these 2 goals are achievable, as well as address the major polluting division of MUIR; upstream and downstream shipping.

Fueling Your Long Runs: Why It’s So Important and How to Develop Your Strategy

Have you ever taken a run in the woods or maybe the mountains, only for your stomach to completely and utterly revolt? Cleaning Up Old Habits

In conjunction with several sustainable and ethical certifications (Climate Neutral, 1% For the Planet, and B-Corp), we are “greening” our operations from the ground up. Our Founder, Ian McNally, and his wife, Joy, have yet again tapped into one of our core competencies; making clean, simple formulations. They have created a non-toxic all-purpose cleaner to be used at MUIR HQ in San Diego, as well as employee homes.

Founder's Corner: Journaling, Schubert & Jack Daniels

This has been one long tough year.  The economic and public health impacts of COVID-19 have been devastating. MUIR’s mettle has been tested like never before. Through hard work, determination and creative thinking, we have not only survived 2020: we have grown by ~25%. Leading MUIR requires a lot of mental and physical energy. Three activities I use to keep me functioning at my best are journaling, making music and running.

An Interview with Ultra Runner Champion Sabrina Stanley

We all know Sabrina Stanley the runner and the current FKT holder of Nolan’s 14, but with all the miles she puts in, it was time to figure out what really makes her tick. It’s not quite 60 Minutes, but this is our sit down with Sabrina Stanley.
