Muir Energy is a fast growing start-up based in San Diego, CA. We make all-natural energy gels for endurance athletes all over the country. The concept of MUIR was conceived in the High Sierra on a backpacking trip, and the love of nature is a prevalent force in every Muir Energy employee. Marketing Lead

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Lead to help us in our overall marketing efforts. You will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets from brand awareness to product promotion.

A Marketing Lead should be a competent professional able to grasp consumer behavior trends and generate creative ideas. You should also be well-versed in specialized marketing concepts, principles and tactics. Initially this would be a part-time position, but it could evolve into a full-time position.

• Starting at 20 hrs/week
• Pay commensurate with experience

• Past experience in marketing
• Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods
• Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions
• Self motivated, hard working
• Comfortable working with an early stage growth company
• Comfortable working alone as well as in small groups
• Articulate, honest

• Researching and identifying opportunities for brand growth and exposure online as well as print and in-person (blogs, podcasts, magazines, FB groups, events, etc)
• Identify opportunities for brand growth in San Diego (businesses, events, service-based projects, etc)
• Supporting the in-house social media and design team by coordinating and collating content
• Creating short-term and long-term goals for growing our presence, and presenting and executing strategic plans to reach those goals
• Track competitor activity by keeping up with market changes and the marketing mix used by competitors
• Devising strategies to drive online traffic to the company website
• Utilizing a range of techniques including paid search, SEO and PPC
• Planning and budgetary control of all digital marketing
• Monitoring return on investment for the different online marketing campaigns
• Participate and lead demos at stores and events in the community
